Jason Azzarello

OVERSEER, Lead Pastor

Jason moved from the Bay Area to Roseville in 2010 and started Redemption Church with a few families in the living room of his home. Presently he serves as our lead Pastor and is passionate about making disciples of Jesus, multiplying leaders, and seeing new churches planted.

Jason and his wife Mary, have four children, Micah, Ethan, Gianna and Jaydon. In his free time he enjoys reading, coaching his children in baseball, teeing off on the golf course, and crossfit.

After spending most of his life as an atheist, David was saved in 2003. Shortly thereafter he felt the call to the pastorate. He sold his home in Auburn, CA and moved to Kentucky to attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. David has a passion to preach the Word and teach others to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. He uses his passion at Redemption Church by preaching, and leading several of our Gospel Fellowships.

David and his wife Paula have been married for 45 years. He has a J.D. degree from UC Davis and makes his living practicing Law. As if he wasn’t smart enough already, he enjoys spending his free time studying theology and apologetics.

OVERSEER, Teaching Pastor


In 2015, Dan and his wife Gen moved their family to Roseville from the Bay Area and started attending Redemption Church soon after. Dan is a gifted administrator and has years of experience in school administration, so we are blessed to have him as our Children’s ministry Director as well as the leader of our youth ministry.

Dan has been married to his wife Gen since 2001. They have three children Brooklynn, Dominic, and Jacklynn. Dan currently makes his living as a territory manager of a Christian curriculum company. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, coaching, playing golf, and watching sports.

DEACON, Children and Youth Ministry

DEACONESS, Youth Ministry

Gen serves as a Deaconess, and has a passion for the youth ministry which she co-leads with her husband Dan.

Gen has been married to Dan since 2001. She works as the K-8 Secretary at Adventure Christian School. She loves cooking, baking (and all Redemption Church can attest to her great baking skills), spending time with her family and watching sports.

Paula and her husband David joined Redemption Church in 2015, and was commissioned as a Deaconess of Mercy in 2017. Recently she also accepted the position of Co-Director of our Children’s Ministry.  Paula has the gift of compassion and has a heart for mercy ministries including praying for the needs of others, visiting hospital and shut ins, and on the spot prayer warrior.

Paula and David have a son, Ryan who they lost at age 26 in 2001.  Paula spent 8 years in the U.S. Army as a WAC becoming an LVN, “Charlie Medic” working in Pediatric and Critical care until 1980 at which time she received her RN license working with adults in Critical Care ICU’s for a total of 36 years. She is currently employed at Sutter Memorial Hospital.  After the death of her son, Paula was invited by a coworker to join her in attending a non-denominational Christian church. At the age of 48 Paula gave her life to Christ.

DEACONESS, Children’s Ministry


Richard Crumley


Richard serves as a Deacon at Redemption Church as well as an usher, greeter & leader  of our Thursday morning Gospel Fellowship.

Richard and his wife Lorraine have been married almost 23 years. They have a blended family of 9 children and 30 grandchildren and counting! Life experiences has given him a heart for divorce care, compassion ministries, support for blended families, and care for Elders.

Richard is retired after working 37 for the State of California Military Department, and now pursues his hobbies of auto racing, Hot Rods, and custom trucks. He also served as a Chaplain with Racers for Christ Ministries.

Amy and her husband Jason joined our Redemption family in 2016. Amy serves as a Deaconess and is passionate about Women’s Ministries.

Sharon Johnson


Sharon has a servants heart and is always willing to step in and help where needed. She serves as a greeter, helps out with events, and assists in administration. Sharon has a passion to serve Christ and help others find and serve Christ. To see changed lives through His forgiveness.

Sharon had a 30 year career employed with Federal Government. She is a widow after being married for 40 years, and has 2 children, 3 step children,10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren! Sharon plays the piano by ear beautifully and occasionally we have been blessed to have her play for our services. She also enjoys reading, gardening, travel, and listening to people’s life stories.

Janis started attending Redemption in 2012 and shortly thereafter volunteered to help with a few administrative tasks. This grew over the years into a full time ministry and job as the church Secretary and Lead Pastor’s Assistant. Janis has the gifts of helps and administration, so she feels very blessed to be able to use her gifts helping the Pastors and people of Redemption church in this way. She also has a passion to see people growing in their love for God and others, and in their knowledge and understanding of His Word.

Janis has one nephew and almost five nieces who she adores, and works hard to maintain her “Favorite Aunt” status. She enjoys reading, studying theology, sewing, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Sonia Vasquez


Sonia serves as a Deaconess at Redemption Church. She has a passion for women’s ministry and to see women growing and encouraging one another with God’s Word. She also has a  heart for those caught in human trafficking and worked with Bridget’s Dream for years.

Sonia wears many hats as a wife, mother, paralegal, and entrepreneur. As a paralegal, she is able to serve pastors, missionaries and trafficking victims worldwide with visa and naturalization services. And as an entrepreneur/mentor, she has the opportunity to lead, train and encourage (mostly women) in self-development, leadership, business development, and balancing work-life-family.
